At its core, sustainable peace building is about transforming relationships, institutions, and structures that have contributed to conflict. It seeks to replace cycles of violence and mistrust with systems of cooperation, justice, and mutual respect. Peace building involves multiple dimensions—political, economic, social, and cultural—and requires the active participation of all segments of society, including governments, civil society, community leaders, and international organizations.
