Pharmacy Services  is the services provided by the pharmacists in monitoring of prescription, poison control centers, storage, distribution, drug procurement, counselling of patients, dispensing of medicines, drug utilization review, and evaluation for the betterment of patients. The hospital pharmacy is one of the key departments in hospitals that deals with procurement, storage, compounding, dispensing, manufacturing, testing, packaging, and distribution of drugs. The research in pharmaceutical science and education is also the responsibility of this department; it is carried out under professional and competent pharmacists. The hospital pharmacy has a high impact on the economics of health costs. Today, drug monitoring services and drug information services are integrated in the hospital pharmacy. The hospital pharmacist is capable of purchasing, storing, handling, pricing, and dispensing medications. Furthermore, pharmacists provide drug information to all health care professionals and the public and act as a connection between the patient and the physician. Hospital pharmacists provide specifications for purchasing drugs, chemical and biological medications, etc. They are further responsible for the manufacturing and distributing of medicaments such as transfusion fluids, parenteral products, tablets, capsules, ointments, stock mixtures, and proper storing of drugs. Hospital pharmacists can sterilize and dispense parenteral medications manufactured in hospitals. They fill and label all drug containers and dispense them. The purchase of drugs, proper conditions for drug storage, maintaining records, and supplying of drugs to the outpatient department are the responsibilities of hospital pharmacists. The functions of hospital pharmacists further include medication monitoring services for inpatients and cooperation in the research program of hospitals.
