The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) is a tool used to estimate the amount of soil loss due to water erosion in a given area. The equation is based on five factors that influence soil loss: rainfall and runoff erosivity, slope gradient and length, soil erodibility, vegetation cover, and conservation practices.
