Induction motors are widely used in various industrial and commercial applications due to their simple construction, robustness, and low cost. There are two main types of induction motors: single-phase and three-phase.

Single-phase induction motors:

Single-phase induction motors are the simplest and most widely used type of induction motor. They operate on the principle of electromagnetic induction, where a rotating magnetic field is created in the stator (the stationary part of the motor) by an AC current. The rotor (the rotating part of the motor) consists of a series of conductive bars or coils, which are not connected electrically to the stator. The magnetic field produced by the stator induces a current in the rotor, which in turn produces its own magnetic field.
