The silk reeling process is the process of turning raw silk cocoons into usable silk yarn. The process involves several steps, as outlined below:

1. Harvesting: Raw silk cocoons are harvested from the silkworms. This is done by cutting the cocoons from the silkworm pupae and collecting them for processing.

2. Soaking: The raw cocoons are then soaked in warm water to loosen the sericin, a glue-like substance that holds the cocoon fibers together. This makes it easier to unravel the cocoon and obtain the raw silk fibers.

3. Reeling: The raw silk fibers are then unrolled from the cocoons using a machine called a reeling machine. The fibers are then wound onto bobbins in a continuous thread, creating raw silk yarn.

4. De-gumming: The raw silk yarn is then degummed to remove the remaining sericin. This is done by immersing the yarn in boiling water or a degumming solution.

5. Spinning: The degummed silk yarn is then twisted and spun into a thicker and stronger yarn, which can be used for weaving. This process is known as spinning.

6. Winding: The spun silk yarn is then wound onto cones or spools for use in weaving. This process is known as winding.

7. Weaving: The wound silk yarn is then used to weave fabric, either by hand or using a loom. The fabric is then finished and dyed to produce the final silk product.
