ABC ID, also known as APAAR ID, is a unique 12-digit code that is part of the ‘One Nation, One Student ID’ program launched by the Union government. This ID is used to store, manage, and access all academic credits, including degrees, diplomas, certificates, training details, and co-curricular accomplishments.

The ABC ID is linked to the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), a system that enables students to accumulate and transfer credits across higher education institutions in India. To create an APAAR/ABC ID, students need to log into DigiLocker and select their university.

For IGNOU students, it is mandatory to create an ABC ID as the university is required to upload the results to the ABC Portal. This ID is also needed when filling in the Term-End-Examination (TEE) form.
